I am seeking information on a killing that supposedly took place in Denton County< Texas, around 1875. Hamilton County Tennessee gunman Joe Ritchey reportedly killed a man who had stolen a horse from an elderly friend named Phillips. Ritchey turned himself in but, fearing extradition to Georgia or Tennessee for previous killings escaped from jail and fled to Newton County, Arkansas.
