Wondering if anyone remembers a mother and son who owned a restaurant in Paducah, TX. or in the surrounding area, their names were Belle and her son, Everett? I am not sure, but I believe their last name was Smith.
My father and I visited them in 1948. Belle was my great aunt, her maiden name was Harris.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who might have information on these folks.

I have been researching my Great Grandmother who was Ella Euginia Harris. She married Louis S Crain and she is buried in The Garden of Memories cemetery in Paducah.

Have you tried looking for records at the cemetery?

There was a woman who wrote 2 books on Cottle county, one is the history of Cottle county and the other is stories and photos of family that lived there. Her granddaughter is still alive and living in CA. I am buying a copy of one of the books and am actually mailing her a check today. I can see if your family is listed in the book if you would like once I get it. In the meantime you can google "Our roots grow deep, A history of Cottle county" and that is how I found people that have the book and asked about my family being in it. It is over 200 pages thought. My Great Grandfather Baldy Green owned a Grocery store there and at Cafe there also. He lived there from late 1800's till when he died in the 1972.
