Hi Bobbie, I am looking for Brandons in Coryell also. I know this is an old post, but if you can place any Brandons in church records that would be a great help to my research. Do you know who this named "Brother Brandon" is? We had stories of the Brandons being involved heavily with the church, possibly as helping found the Presbyterian orphanage (Itasca area, no records show that.) Charles L went west before settling in TX, possibly either for promise of gold/adventure, or more likely to be kind of a missionary to convert and minister to the spiritual needs of the sinful lawless westerners.
I have a long and winding Brandon family tale, much of it either unproven or disproven. I am related through the Brandon brothers Charles L, John Adam, Hugh Francis, and also Walter Wadsworth and Benton Brandon, sons of John Brandon and Eliz Henson. Also the presumed cousin Rufus Lafayette Brandon (son of Hugh, s/o Lewis.) I am looking for records on the "missing" brother, Benton Brandon, who may be aka L. B. Brandon who was b1845 MO, lived in 1880 Ark and 1900 Comanche County Tx.
I am searching for birth, and esp marriage and death and burial records for any and all Brandons in Coryell County. Any extra info on Brandon kin would help me place who is who.
I am looking for info on a missing Mary Robinson b 1850 GA, sister to Emma Robinson who married John Adam Brandon. I do not know if she married or died, but stories say she came with her siblings to TX, and the sibs were in Coryell County abt 1871.
All help apprecaited, including ideas of how to get over these few remaining brick walls!
Thanks again,
Diane
