So close, yet so far away, they say! All I have turned up today is Annie Cryer born 25 Dec 1917 died Mar 1987, SS#461-09-6947, source record 45, 70 years old, living in Tx 75143 which could be Kemp, Gun Barrel City, Eustace, Kaufman, or Carlton Tx., but not born in 1920. Another Annie b. 1912? died 29 Jul 1990 in Ellis Co.? Tx., possibly in Ennis, Tx. The first one has a closer birthdate than the latter.
In 1979 one source told me Annie b. 1920 had lived in San Antonio, Tx., but I have never found her there. Another source in 1978 told me that she had married a few times and moved 'up north.' Because I have found no marriage record or divorce record for her, I have not been able to prove or disprove those sources.
Today I saw that Annie's ( b. 1920) mother died in 1935, so that meant she was 15 when she lost her mother, and (I believe) her father in one record I saw may have died in a car accident in the early 40's, so that meant she lost her parents when she was quite young. On the Coke Co. genweb site, the cemetery where her father and mother are buried shows their marriage as Apr. 12, 1912 and her possible mother's gravemarker says Matilda, 1891-1935. Matilda (Mary M.) could have been called Mae I think to distinguish her from her possible mother-in-law, Mary J. Annie Mae could have been named also for her mother. The state records say marriage was 14 Apr 1912 and registered 12 Apr 1912. Her possible grandfather T. F.'s gravestone says Apr. 15, 1861-May 15, 1929.
