Hopefully this message finds you, since it has been a few years since the post I'm replying to.
I don't suppose you have any more information on Mary Jane Kerr Thompson, do you?
I'm trying to track a Kerr family that was in Newton County in 1850. The family of David H Kerr had two daughters listed, Mary Jane and Sarah A. This particular family left Newton County sometime between 1850, and 1860.
I believe Sarah A. to be my ancestor Sarah Adaline Kerr. Sarah married Ferdinand Willbern in Cherokee Co in 1852.
