I am looking for any info on the DEES family. My grandma, Mable Curtis DEES, was born 2/20/1898 in Panhandle, Texas and married my grandfather James Cleveland BURTON on 2/10/1918 in Panhandle. I don't know where the BURTON'S were living at that time. My Dad and his siblings were all born in Hereford, Texas. Mable's mother's name was Mary Emily Jane BRADLEY. She married a man named Charles DEES. He ran out on the family of 6 kids while they were still young. Any info on any of these names would be greatly appreciated.

Lucy (Bradshaw) Killian -- Where is her grave?

A little help please!

Lucy Ann Bradshaw, b. May 1876 in Arkansas, father is James Henry Bradshaw, and mother is Charlotte Volumia (Jarrett) Bradshaw.

Lucy Ann Bradshaw married Isaac S. "Ike" Killian about 1897 in Indian Territory... Lucy & Isaac Killian had six children/five survived to adulthood. The children were: Mary Eleanor "Nellie", Eula Mae, Henry Lawson, Jesse Ray, Sarah Belle "Sadie", and Mary Etta "Fay" (died at 6 mos. of age).

Lucy & Isaac Killian left Greer County, Oklahoma (where the Bradshaw Families resided) to the Oklahoma Panhandle where they had filed on land in 1905 just after Christmas.
Isaac Killian and his brother-in-law, Bun Bradshaw left to get lumber to build the family's home. Isaac took ill with pneumonia and died on or about February 8, 1906.
Bun Bradshaw and Lucy Killian (pregnant with the 6th child) took the children and started back to Mangum, Greer County, Oklahoma by train.
The train stopped in Groom, Carson County, Texas to get water. The conductor realizes Lucy Killian and one of the children are sick. The family is taken off the train. There is no hospital, so the family is taken to the hotel where the 6th child is born. The female child is named after the woman who ran the hotel, Mary Etta "Fay".
Lucy Killian was deathly ill, her brother Bun takes the five children by train and is met in Erick, Oklahoma by another brother, Will Bradshaw. Will Bradshaw boards the train to return to Groom to be with his sister Lucy.
The Killian children are taken by their maternal grandparents in a surry drawn by horses to Mangum, Oklahoma.
Three to four days later, Lucy Killian dies in Groom, Texas. Her brother Will Bradshaw brings the infant child to the maternal grandparents...

Where is Lucy Killian buried? Have read through Carson County, Texas cemetery records, to no avail... February 1906 -- was there a newspaper in Groom?

Who was the local doctor that attended Lucy? The child that was sick on the train was Eula Mae (my maternal grandmother). That same doctor mixed a powdered medicine with water and gave it by spoon to Eula Mae...

Am desperate to locate Lucy (Bradshaw) Killian's grave! Icing on the cake would be a news article, obit, doctor's record of her death.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

When I was very small my father, mother and I lived "way out in the country" near Skellytown. My baby sister was born there in 1939, but lived only a few hours. My maiden name was Williams. We had relatives there with the surnames of Dorman and Williams.

My parents told me that Daddy operated the "water station". This was in the early 1940's and I know that we lived near an almost dried up creek. I do remember while living there we had the worst snow storm that I have ever seen....all we could see of our car was the very top of the roof when it was over!

My question is this: Does anyone know exactly what the "water station" was and exactly where it was located? I was too young then to remember that now.
Searching for any information about a death, possibly by murder, of one Sylvester WIMER in Groom, Carson Co, TX on 28 Sep 1919. His descendants would very much like to bring closure to the whereabouts of his death, and the conditions under which he died. Sylvester WIMER was born 25 Jun 1891 in Paeboby, Marion Co, KS and married Margaret Cecil [Ruth] BABB. He supposedly went to Texas on a cattle drive, was paid for the cattle and then murdered, possibly for the money. Any information about his death and possible burial place will be greatly appreciated. Respectfully,
Dr. Dixon G. STEVENS dixondoc@adelphia

I'm searching for info on my g-g-grandfather, Thomas Jefferson Davis. According to family members he lived in Panhandle, TX where my g-grandfather, Sebe Charles Davis was born around 1895. The family moved back to Alabama sometime before Sebe's 5th birthday. Jefferson married Della Green probably in TX but I'm not certain on that. I can't seem to find any birth/marriage or census records for Carson County, TX for that time period. I appreciate any info that will point me in the right direction to locate these ancestors.

Need help in locating any family of Chester Carson in the Omaha, Texas locale. My greatgrandfather, Thomas Carson married Josephine Rooks in Dekalb County Alabama in 1881 and moved four sons and a daughter to Texas from this location or part of the family could have been born in Texas in the Omaha area. The daughter was a red head that died at 7 years of age. Would like to know the cementary where they might be buried. I understand from family members Chester Carson remained in the area when Josephine returned to Dekalb Couty with the boys. Somewhere Chester remained in Omaha or returned to Omaha from Alabama. The other three boys, James, Earnest and my grandfather, Marvin Carson remained in Dekalb County Alabama in the Section, Ala. area of Sand Mountain. Any info on Thomas Carson would be appreciated. His parents would be a great start. Thanks.

I am looking for information about my g-grandparents, (1)Benjamin Franklin Parker & Nancy R. Manning. They had about 7 or 8 children (of which one was, Victory Jane, was my grandmother) before moving to Fannin Co. TX in the late 1870's. Benjamin & Nancy Parker died and was buried in Fannin Co in the late 1880's, but some of their children & grandchildren migrated to the panhandle part of Texas. One of the sons, (2)James Wych Parker married Mary Jane Jones in1885 in Clay Co TX. James & Mary Jane had at least one child, (3)Beulah Ann Parker born in Fannin Co Tx, in 1886 and died in 1950 and was buried in Gray Co TX. Beulah Ann married James Ervin Smith 1906. They had 7 or 8 children of which most migrated to Gray & Carson Co TX. Their youngest child (4)Ruth Naomi Smith married Perry George Franklin of Carson Co TX. They probably still have children & grandchildren still in that area. If anyone has any information about the Parker and will share it with me, I sure would appreciate it.

I have been searching for a Burlie (Jacks) Goldston, married to Walter Goldston and living in Wichita Falls in 1934. She would be my g-aunt. I have no information on her or her family. The Burlie I am looking for was the daughter of James Monroe Jacks and Molly E. Miller. She was born prior to 1891 as that was when her mother died. Can anyone help me with information?

I'm looking for information on Miley WILSON and his family who lived in Panhandle in the 1920's. I believe Miley's wife's name was Edna and they had at least one daughter, also named Edna who married George T. HAWKINS. A daughter was born to Geo. and Edna -- Alice Evaline Hawkins on 14 March 1928. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has more information on these families. I have ancestors for Miley. Thanks!
Looking for a photo of the Catholic Children's home in Carson County, Texas in the Panhandle. Time frame aprox. 1954-5 Any e-mail, or street address also appreciated. I was less than 5 years old when there. I have two pieces of embroidery work done then and entered in the County Fair--one a dresser scarf and the other a potholder. I don't see how I could have possibly done such neat work(the nuns must have fixed it when I was asleep). I remember knocking on the back screen door to have one of the nuns untangle my thread or rethread the needle all the time.Thanks. Ora Bell Henkes

He may be Monroe L. SHELTON b. 1869 Morgan County, AL. But without other information this is only speculation. Thanks Elaine
