I'm not related or acquainted and this is a courtesy lookup. Her actual birth was in 1909 'cause she was seven months old on 1910 TX-Hutchinson-Precinct 1-District 140-Image 1. Her parents were Texas-natives T. D. (Tom) Lewis and Vida Belle Bridges. Parental confirmation found on death certificates: Nona Bell Austin (14 Sep 1906 - 13 Apr 1940) and Gordon Raymond Lewis (18 Feb 1919 - 10 Mar 1967). They were Dorothy's siblings and can be found 1920 Randall-Canyon-District 208-Image 3. Dorothy misidentified as "Ortha" and Gordon was not even enumerated? He's with parents on 1930 Carson-White Deer so that's confirmation of birth. This family lived, primarily, in the upper panhandle counties. They are not easily researched. T. D. Lewis died 1933 and there's a find-a-grave memorial in Carson County. His mom, Sarah (1825-1915), buried in same cemetery as are several of Tom's kids. Unable to find a death certificate for Tom or Vida. That's perplexing? Vida Bridges wed T. D. Lewis 20 Nov 1900 in Montague County. The Bridges, led by Joseph S., found 1900 Montague-Precinct 1-District 46-Image 5. You'd think the Lewis-family would also be found 1900 Montague 'cause T. D. married Viola five months after the census? Not! Holler back so I don't drift away researching other surnames?
