Christian Dierlam descendant visited Vadenrod, Germany in the past year?

George and Maria Dierlam and family came to Calhoun County 1848 from Vadenrod, a village in Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany. In 2001, Vadenrod celebrated their 750 year anniversary, and Heinrich Wahl wrote a book about the history of Vadenrod (current population about 350 people). The Dierlams are mentioned in the book, as emigrating to Texas.

Heinrich Wahl says a descendant of Christian Dierlam visited Vadenrod in the past year, and this person is maybe a mayor somewhere in Texas. I'd love to get in contact with whoever visited Vadenrod, and hear about the trip! (My mother is Beverly Pearl Dierlam.)

Also the name Bindewald still exists in Vadenrod.

I received this information today from one of the last four farmers in Vadenrod. He was curious about what happened to the Vadenrod families that emigrated to Texas, and found my information at http://www.ewbarnard.com/ and wrote to me.

If anyone is interested in more information about Vadenrod, whence the Dierlams came in 1848, let me know - my contact will be mailing more material about the village :)

Ed Barnard

I am looking for William L. Harmon b. abt 1881 Lafayette County, MS

He is the son of Lee S Harmon aka Levi Smith Harmon Jr and Kate Barry (or Berry) who settled in Bradley and Calhoun Co. Arkansas between 1885 and 1900 from Lafayette County, MS. Lee was a newspaper editor and printer

In the 1900 Warren, AR census his name is written in but crossed out and his two sisters are listed. According to the census the family had three children. William's sisters were Lena K and Mary Myrna. Mary Myrna married a Witherington and I have contacted her descendants. None of them were aware of a brother but they did not really know anything about Lee or Kate's origins or that Lee was really Levi.

Either William died prior to the 1900 census or had possibly already moved out on his own at approx 19 YOA.

All help is appreciated.
All I know is that she was born July 23, 1919 in Port Lavaca and at one time they were never able to find a birth certificate, just a baptimal record in a church (I'm presumming in Port Lavaca). She was from a catholic family. Where might be the first place I should look?

Thanks for any help!
I recently saw a documentary on Calhoun, and realize how many people are suffering from toxicity in the county due to the industrial plants in the area. My heart goes out to people who work for the "cancer mills" and I would really like to share an amazing product that I think will help keep the people of Calhoun as healthy as possible. It's also an amazing job opportunity for those interested in becoming a distributor, but for me it's more important that everyone is as healthy and free of toxins and heavy metals in their bodies. All disease comes from toxicity in my opinion, so I've made it my personal mission to get this product out to the people who could benefit from it most. It is patented and rated with the FDA as safe and easy to use. Please go to www.peacefuldetox.com for more information and contact me via the information on the website if you are interested in ordering or becoming a distributor in order to get the product at wholesale price. It WILL change your life and possibly save it. I can also provide extensive testimonials of people who have been using it.

Rose and Floyd Coole were married in Texas. While living there they had 4 children: Candy Sue (1957), Clay Winslow (4/16/59), Terry Lynn (6/4/60), and Honey May (5/29/62). In 1964, they moved from Texas taking Candy Sue with them. They put the 3 youngest children up for adoption. Clay and Honey were adopted by the same family. Clay died in Victoria Texas 4/17/85. Floyd died in June 1984 at Hardy Arkansas. Terry and Honey are now having health problems. We do not want to interfer in Rose's life. We just need questions answered. We are a secret. They never told anyone about us. i_am_looking_4u2001@yahoo.com

I was in Port Lavaca yesterday, 07/01/05, and couldn't find out anything. Why do the death records start in 1966? Where or what happened to the previous records? Are there internment records for the various cemeteries? My husband and I went through part of Port Lavaca Cemetery yesterday. Thank you in advance for any assistance or insight.

I copied the names and places of birth and death. So I have an index of sorts. I could do a check for names if anyone needs this information.

most of the deaths were in the early 1920s.

MGR

Johann August Froebel/Friebel and Christina Concordia Hiyne/Hein were married in Calhoun County in 1854. He arrived in Texas (I believe) in Galveston in 1849. Also on the same ship (The Galliott Flora) a man with initials H. W. Heyne age 49 also was on the same ship. Christina Concordia Hiyne came over from Germany to Indianola in 1852. They were married in 1854. They wound up in the 1870 census in Austin County, Texas. I think they were there in 1856 when my grandmother was born, but not sure. I would like to find out how long they stayed in Calhoun Co. and also if H. W. Heyne might possibly have been her father and what happened to him.
Searching for photo of the Methodist Church in Port LaVaca that was built in 1898 and destroyed by storm in 1945. The write up of my grandparents' wedding (Robert Lamberth and Augusta Lee George) states that they were the first couple married in the church that he designed and built. I have tried the usual places for a copy -- newspaper, library, the present church, etc. to no avail. If anyone around Calhoun Co. knows where such a photo exists, I would appreciate hearing from you.
I'm seeking the burial location of Dr. John R. Fretwell for inclusion in the second volume of _Notable Civil War Burials in Texas_. Dr. Fretwell of La Vaca was with Edgar C. After the war he was the Grand Master of the Texas Masonic Lodge in 1866.

I've found an obituary of his wife on your board but it doesn'ts say where she was buried in 1878.

Any information on the burial location of Dr. Fretwell would be apprecated.

Seeking verification of information regarding William Tams Purviance and Dr. Alexander Purviance. Sometime after 1869 William Tams Purviance moved to Texas; he first settled in Galveston, later went to Indianola and then returned to Galveston. While in Indianola he was in the hide business with his brother, Dr. Alexander Purviance. Upon his return to Galveston he became a cotton factor and commission merchant and was associated with Mr. John Braman, who, at a later time, was purchasing agent for the City of Galveston. He died in 1904 as is buried in Lafeyette Cemetery #1, New Orleans.

Dr. Alexander Purviance came to Texas about 1859 or 1860 and settled just south of Seguin. He later lived in Indianoa and Port Lavaca. He moved to Wharton following the storm of 1875. He died in 1883 or 1884. He was living in Wharton County, Texas at the time of his death. His nephew states "I remember that I was living in Columbus at the time and Dr. Purviance's oldest son, Samuel D. Purviance, came to Columbus for a physician." Records indicate he is buried in Victoria, Texas.

Seeking any information regarding Indianola business and burial in Victoria, Texas.

I am trying to find a death notice or cemetary listing that contains my great uncle, William Monterville Stanford, born about 1875, Grayson Co., VA, lived in Port LaVoca, Texas - wife Anne Sharp Stanford died 9/1970 - believe William died about 1944-1945, based on obituary for his brother, Jones Stanford, Campbell Co., TN. Any help in directing me to possible records would be greatly appreciated. Ultimate goal is to secure a copy of his death certificate - looking for my maternal great grandfather's name.
