RHOADS, Vera; April 4, 2001; pg 9A
Vera Rhoads, 71, of Andice, formerly of Buchanan Dam, died peacefully at home on Wed. April 4, 2001 in Andice. She was born Dec. 13, 1929 to Benjamin and Gertha Mae Howard Wiley in Moffett. She married to R. V. Rhoads on June 27, 1947 in Belton. Vera, being a pastor's wife, taught Sunday School and worked beside him in his ministry.
Mrs. Rhoads is survived by her husband Rev. R.V. Rhoads, Pastor of Andice Baptist Church, of Andice, daughter Monnie De Unger of Cedar park, grandsons J.B. De Unger of Cedar Park and Douglas De Unger of Austin, sisters Olene Ellis of McGregor, TX, Patgsy Holden of gatesville, Louise Phillips of Wylie, TX and Beatrice Wiley of McGregor, brothers Dewey Wiley of McGregor, Jack Wiley of Lorena and Ben H. Wiley of Kaufman. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation was held from 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at the Gabriels. Serivces were at 2 p.m. Fri. April 6, 2001 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Andice with Reverend Le Roy Harris and Reverend Floyd Franks of Cedar Valley Baptist Church. Burial was held at the Andice Cemetery in Andice. Memorial cenributions may be made to Andice Baptist Church, 6570 F.M. 970, Andice, TX 76527.
