I am seeking more information on the Rixheim area of Alsace. My husband's family came from there. The male immigrant- Sebastien GRASSER arrived in New Orleans in 1849. His wife, Catherine REYMANN, REYMON arrived several years later with their children. I can find no trace of Sebastien after he arrived. I find Catherine in Directories, Census as "widow of Sebastien." I would love to find out more about these families and the area that they came from. One interesting note is that their son, Benjamin GRASSER listed in the census that he was from Germany, Saxony, I believe. Thank you in advance for any information!
