I am still searching for info that will lead to me to the above graves. I have found recently that Sarah's sister Nipsey raised Sarah and William's children--possibly near Dalby Springs community where one of Nipsey's children was born. Would like to know which cemeteries would be near that area. Nipsey, herself, died in 1909 and her husband James A. Brown died the following year in 1910. Don't know where the children went after that. Sarah and William's children were Nipsie Elizabeth, John Phillip, Ollie Bell, James Andrew, and Leola Jane--all Stroud. Thought if I could locate the family gravesite of James A. Brown and his wife Nipsie M. Brown that I might find clues about the gravesites of William and Sarah. Have you tried Red River County? There are cemeteries which are very close to the Bowie County line which have Dalby Springs burials.

Do you know where William Stroud was from and which Civil War unit he served in?

William Stroud was born in Hempstead County, Arkansas, in 1958, I believe. His wife Sarah was born in Tennessee. He, of course, was only a youngster during the Civil War; I know of no connection with him. Appreciate your reply. lindacollins3626
