My GGAunt, Mary Ann

German name: Marie
Sophia Charlotte Dorthea
Drahn) was born in the Prussian village of Bochin 17 Dec.1843. She and most of her family emigrated to
America 28 May, 1855. Two brothers came earlier.
She and family moved from Chicago area to the
Waco TX area in 1860. Mary Ann married Benjamin Thomas
Prather 11 March 1866 in China Spring,
McLennan CO, TX.
They had 6 children. George A. born 13 Feb 1867 in either
Texas or
Arkansas. George never married. He died 16 Dec. 1889.
Martha Lucretia, your Mattie, was born in 1869 in
Bosque CO, TX. and married Thomas
Jefferson Rhodes on 10 Feb, 1889. They also had 6 children. I don't show a death for her.
Alice was born about 1871 in
Smith Bend,
Bosque CO. TX. She married W. D. Ferris on 25 May 1894. They had 5 children. I don't show a date for her death. W. D. Ferris may have been a cousin.
Fannie M. Prather was born 19 July 1875 at
Smith Bend. I do not show her being married. She died 26 Jan 1956.
Joseph Marcus was born 19 May 1878 at
Coon Creek, near Clifton,
Bosque CO. TX. I do not show him married. He died 12 Aug. 1955.
Finlly, Jessie F. was born 21 Nov 1884 at
Smith Bend. She married Rufus
Standefer and they had 4 children. Jessie died March 1973.
The third young lady, Miss L.J. Prather to R.F. Beauchamp 11 May 1882, is not of this family. I don't have a matching name of initials, not do I have any
Beauchamp in my family file. Sorry about this one.
