Wilma, you have posted your query to the BORDEN county Texas website. You would probably be better

served by posting to the BORDEN SURNAME website and Cherokee County Alabama website.

Lawrence is in Cherokee County and I guess you meant Lawrence county not the town of Lawrence.

The 1850 US census shows a Martin BORDEN, District 8, Lawrence Co, AL born abt 1840 and one in

District 14, Marion Co, AL born abt 1841. I think the Borden's were county twice, once in each county.

The Bordens' were in Lawrence county AL 1830 census. Head's of household were David born appx

1800 in TN and appears to be Martin's father. Jesse BORDEN born abt 1808 and a Caleb BORDEN born

appx 1800 to 1810 who was not in the 1850 census in Lawrence county but they probably were brothers.
