Looking for info on Alex Helmer. I have located his death record in Bexar Co, TX. He died in 1937 at the County TB Colony.On Alex's death record, he is listed as widowed but no wife's name. He was born in Galveston, TX in 1877 & his father was JE Helmer born in Denmark, abt 1841 and immigrated to US in 1860.His mother was Mary ?, b abt 1855 from Mobile AL. JE was a Schooner Capt. in Galveston and here are the children I have found listed on census: Born in Mobile, AL, Charles & Molly. All the rest were born in Galveston, TX. Edward, Alex, Louis, Albert, George, Cecile & Arthur.
Here is where I come in,after being married & widowed, Alex married (or didn't marry) a Marguerite Wilson in abt 1932 and fathered 3 daughters in Texas. Marguerite was my grandmother & he would have been my grandfather. He was a piano tuner and travelled because the daughters were born (Rising Star, TX / Aransas Pass, TX. Boerne, TX.) There may have been a daughter from his prior marriage, the one he was widowed from. Does anyone think they may know of this man, or his family . Somebody please help !!!
