Cemetery help needed

In 1903 does anyone know which cemetery would have been referred to as "the old cemetery"?

My ancestor, Newton Herbert Hord, died in Beeville and I have been unable to locate his grave. The only information that I have is the following newspaper article.

BEEVILLE WEEKLY PICAYNE
16 Oct 1903

N. H. Hord died at an early hour Tuesday, age 46, after two months of suffering of paralysis. He was a carpenter by trade and previous to being stricken was working in Port Lavaca. He was a native of Iowas, but was raised in Goliad County, where in 1879 he married Miss E. C. Hall, who, with six children survive him. Two of the children are married. The eldest of the four remaining is fifteen years of age, the youngest three, and the family is left in very destitute circumstances. They have been residents of Beeville about three years. Mr. Hord has been a member of the Christian church for a number of years. The funeral took place from the residence at four o’clock Tuesday evening and the remains were interred to the old cemetery. Reverend J. M. Sailee conducted the services.

My gg grandmother was Nancy Webb. Her sister, Rachel L Webb, married Samuel B Callaway on 7 Jun 1865 in Dallas County. They had a least four children, John, James, Armas (??), and Edward. The family moved from Dallas County to Bee County in 1892. I presume that Rachel died there sometime before 1900 because she does not appear with the family in the census. Samuel B filed for a Soldiers pension in 1911 stating that he lived in Normanna. I am interested in locating this family's descendants. I would like to exchange information with them.

LONGORIAs killed circa 1890 reported in Beeville Bee

I came across this article while researching something else and I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction to be able to identify the two Longorias that were mentioned in the article.

I also posted on the Live Oak county board as the killings happened in Live Oak although the news article was reprinted from the Beeville Bee.

Article as it appeared in The Daily Herald (Brownsville, Texas) dated September 23, 1895

THE SLAYER OF THE LONGORIA BOYS

George Bigford, a ranger, who is charged with having been interested in the killing of a couple of Mexicans in Live Oak county in '92 without proper justifications, and who seemed a change of venue to this county upon indictments filed by the grand jury of Live Oak county, got a continuance in the same offense was tried and acquitted, it having appeared that the killing was done by the rangers through a mistake. They were hunting horse thieves, came upon the camp of the Mexicans unexpectedly, the Mexicans, being strangers in the country evidently supposed the rangers were brigands, fired upon them, and were killed in return --- Beeville Bee.
These men are the rangers who shot and killed the two Longoria boys from Cameron county several years ago, while the latter were travelling in Live Oak county.

As I am in Cameron County, I have not found any further information on this killing. Anyone who can help me identify these two Longorias that were killed or can help me find any more stories relating to this event, I will greatly appreciate it! Thank You! -Belinda

OLD BEE COUNTY CABINET CARD PHOTO FOUND

I have rescued an old cabinet card photo of a young man from Beeville, Bee Co. TX. The “card” is somewhat discolored, but the oval photo of the young man is in excellent condition. On the back of the card is handwritten with these words: “John A. Conlan Sr. To Mamma and Papa, Aug. 1903”. The photograph was taken by Rust Studio, Beeville, TX. I would make a guess that John A. Conlan, Sr. is about 25-30 years of age in this photo. It is a chest and up photo. He has on a high collared white shirt, and a dark jacket/suit coat, etc. His hair is dark, and is parted in the middle. I try to rescue old photos and find family or another save haven. So, if John A. Conlan is yours, or you are an interested party, I can be reached at: jmje36@aol.com. Thank you, Judy in TX
According to census records is wife was Drusilla A. and children were Earl C., Ralph V., Ethel M., Wayman, Cyrus C., and Marvin.

I'm trying to find out if John V.
Littleton Cranfield (or L.C.) Randolph

Littleton was my gr-gr- grandfather. He was born in S.C. around 1792, and came to Texas sometime after 1833, with his wife, son and daughter. In 1837, he was in Sabine County. As near as I can ascertain, he applied for a land grant, located in Burleson County, but was denied. He then applied for another and was granted this one. The League was located in Bee County and the Labor was located in Hood County near Buchanon. I have found records indicating that he did have property in Hood County, but it was either sold to, or acquired for back taxes, by a Mr. Rhea. I can find no records of him ever having been in Bee County, and in fact he may have already been deceased, as the exact date, location and cause of death are not yet, and may never be, known. It is thought that he died around 1850. I am simply looking for information anyone may have concerning my Gr-gr-grandfather. Any assistance or information would be greatly appreciated.

Hello I was hoping that maybe someone could help me with some information. I am in search of any Hensley that were in Bee County, Texas between 1900 and 1930. Joseph Benjamin Hensley was the son of Henry C Hensley and Elizabeth Hazel. Joseph Benjamin was married to Erminia Asha Grimes in Harrison County, Texas in 1879 and there family later appears in Bee County. I do not have any Texas resources to go by so I was hoping someone may be able to look at marriages and cemetery listings for me. If you can I would greatly appreciate it. Elizabeth Hazel was the daughter of Caleb and Mary Atherton Hazel. Caleb's father, Caleb Sr. was President Abraham Lincoln's teacher in Hardin County, Kentucky.

I know I don't have much information to go on, and since I handle inquires for Victoria County, I know this is a shot in the dark. I'm looking for a Louisa Machost married ?. She was listed in the obits for Ferdinand (father) and Pauline Machost (stepmother) on the occasion of their deaths on May 6, 1930 by reason of a tornado in Runge. Obit shows daughter, Louisa, of Tynen. I have been unable to find any marriage record. A distant cousin recalls that as a child they visited her and her husband at Tynen...they owned a motel and large truck garden. Would you have access to a city directory or the like that might give me a clue. I apologize for the vagueness and understand if this is not enough information. We have been searching marriage records in the surrounding counties and have come up empty handed. Her mother's maiden name was Natho.

I am descended from Teddy and Felix HART, original Bee County settlers through Felix' daughter, Catherine HART who married David CRAVEN ( 08 Jan 1806 to 06 Feb 1880) in Matamoros, Mexico on 17 April 1837.
David and Catherine entered the USA and lived in Donaldsonville, LA; Independence, TX and then in Papalote, Bee County, TX where David was a shopkeeper, saddler and Justice of the Peace.
WHERE WAS DAVID CRAVEN BORN?
Various Census reports and his gravestone list conflicting birth places: New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
My (non-contemporary, but generally accurate) family bible has David as being born in London, England.
Why were so many places listed for this well known man??? Where was he really born???
What was he doing in Matamoros when he met and married Catherine???
Was he born a Roman Catholic or did he convert to marry the Irish-Catholic Catherine???
I have attempted, unsuccessfully to find the record of David and Catherine's marriage by contacting Catholic Archives in Matamoros and in Mexico City.
I have tried unsuccessfully to find record of their entering Louisiana by ship (I am assuming that they sailed from Mexico - rather than crossing Texas overland) and I have been unsuccessful in this search also.

I am looking for info on David and Rebecca McFarland. They
probably arrived in Texas from Missouri between 1851 and 1860. David supposedly died in Bee County but no date is
given. The family may have included a son (John Walter
McFarland) and a married daughter and her family (Mary M.
Davenport, Augustus C. Davenport and David Wilson Davenport). Any help would be appreciated.
Jim Jubela

I am looking for Dad's cousin, (Annie) Kathleen Burczyk (maiden name Clarke) and her brother, Robert Clarke's family.

Their parents were William Clarke & Isabel Creighton m. 4/4/1923 Dunkineely, Co. Donegal, Ireland. Isabel's family came from Ballinamallard, Co. Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. William & Isabel were buried in the Long Island National Cemetery, New York.

Kathleen was living in Lamanda St, LA in 1970 when she wrote to her aunt in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She said her niece Carol (maiden name Clarke) was living in Beeline Texas and had just had a son Michael Roy Dillingham III.
Amish/Mennonite community in Beeville Area. ?

I am trying to find information based on a family rumor. My gr. gr. grandfather, "Preacher" John Slaubaugh, after the death of his first wife, Veronica Gnegy in 1899, reportedly traveled from Garrett Co., Maryland to Beeville, Texas, circa 1900. He was ordained a minister (Amish) sometime after 1855, he later joined the Church of God in Christ Mennonite (Holdeman). Family lore says that he helped establish a Mennonite church in the Beeville area. The family lore also says that he married while in Texas and had several more children (he and Veronica had 11). He died in Beeville area in Dec. 1916 and his body was shipped back to Maryland for burial. SO THESE ARE MY QUESTIONS: 1. DID HE HELP ESTABLISH A CHURCH? 2. DID HE REMARRY? 3. IF HE REMARRIED, DID HE HAVE ADDITIONAL CHILDREN IN TEXAS? 4. IS THERE ANY RECORD OF HIS DEATH IN TEXAS OR AN OBIT? I would really appreciate any information that anyone could provide.
I am searching for information on the burial site of Nathan N.G. Allen, who moved with his wife Margaret Quinn to the Papalote area in 1856. Nathan apparently died by 1860, and family tradition maintains that he was buried on the east side of Papalote Creek, outside of the present-day community of Papalote. The burial site was still marked in the 1930's. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
