I've recently become intrigued by my family history. I'm looking for any information on my g-g-g-g-granddad, Francis Winans born in 1790 and died in 1876. He moved to Texas in 1835 and received a land grant on 3/26/40 in Bastrop County. I'm not sure if he lived there. I assume he did. His wife's name was Julia Ann Whitaker with whom he had many kids: Eliza,William, Edward, Enos, Caroline, Emily
Robert, Frank, Louis, Rosetta, Malvina. Malvina m'd Cicero Smith with whom she had 11 kids with. This is probably a long shot, but I thought I would give it a try.
