Do you know of anyone who worked in this home, which is no longer standing, or does anyone know of anyone who lived and died there and where they might be buried? My grandfather CHARLES CUMBERLAND died there Feb 28 ,1946, was at the Cook Funeral home on Colorado st. His Death cert says he was buried in Austin State Cemetery, which I cannot find either. I got in touch with the new Cook Funeral home on LaMar and they said that the home was called the Mens Confederate Home and he was buried in the State Hospital Cemetery. If anyone can give me any info I will really appreciate it. I will be in Dallas Thursday and am getting short on time to find his grave. He has no stone so the cemeteries will have to look at their list of names not the gravestones for his name.
