Looking for info on Sarah Frances Rutledge born March 9, 1880.(My Great Grandmother) Married Marion D. Wilson in Poteet on May 22, 1907, and had Twins (Girl is my Grandmother)1 boy/1girl on May 14, 1908, and had 2 other sons but not sure they were born there. Looking for her Parents names. They are suppose to be buried in Poteet, Texas, but I dont know thier names.

Location of Stevens Cemetery near Somerset

I am trying to locate information and hopefully a survey for a Stevens Cemetery located near Somerset. I have some death certificates of the William McDonald STEVENS family that indicate burial was in this cemetery. Of course, I suppose it could be across the county line in Bexar County, but one certificate designated Atascosa County.

I'm doing family research and need to find out where the Divins, Chapaty family members are buried, Mike Divin Sr. is supposedly buried at Loire cemetery and Chapatys and other Divins are buried in Elmendorf, according to the death certificates. The only cemeteries I found in Elmendorf were St. Anthony and Garcia Cemetery and they are not there.

I'm trying to find where my GG Grandparents are buried I have one death cert. and all it lists is the funeral home.
Wells & Gray Funeral home this would be back in 1926, so if anyone knows of them so I can write them for info on burials, or if they were taken over. They are out of Lytle, TX or somewhere in that area. I appreciate any info you can give me.

William Russell Rutledge (1835-1919) son named Lawrence died as a young baby...but in the book it states it was Andrew. Which one was it?

Did you get any input for the McKinney's? My G-G-Grandfather and his brother both had landgrants issued in Atascosa Co. in the 1870's. Other names on the land grant were Caruthers, Lyons, Smith, Martin, Meadows, and Day.

Have questions concerning the Kindla grave marker listing for St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leming, Atascosa County on the internet.

RE: Joseph Sr married Anastasia Korus in 1868 and the 1870 census shows his age 30, her's 18, difference of 12 years.

She is said be buried at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Leming, Atascosa County, with marker: "Anna Stagger Kindla August 22, 1892 Mother." She died age 41, aparently died soon after birth of last son, Frank, born abt 1890.

1. Question: Why "Stagger" ? Is this a transcription error "cut in stone" via internet? Cound it be "Anna Stasia" instead?

RE Marker: Kindla, Mary Ann 10/29/1886 12/27/1940 Mother Comment: Same stone as Joseph

2. Question: Which Joseph? Joseph Senior circa 1840 dod 11/18/1919 or his son,
Joseph Jr., 3/14/1879 - 3/27/1960 Father Gone but not Forgotten.

RE: Records of St. Michaels Church in San Antonio show Joseph Kindla married Anastasia Korus 10 Feb 1868
and same records show Joseph Kindla married Marianna Kolonko 2 Nov 1895.

3. Question:Did Joseph Sr remarry after his first wife's death in 1892 (he had many children to care for) and was Marianna Kolonko his second wife?

4. Question: If Joseph Sr did marry Marianna Kolonko, who is Joseph Jr's wife? Marriage would be before 1910 according to census.

Hi..I have hit a brick wall and trying to locate info on Family of Samuel H. Wilson wife Amanda E. Wilson (unknown Maiden name) They had children in LA, and moved to Poteet area when my Great Grandfather M.D. (Marion) Wilson was I think 8 yrs old. I know he married in Poteet Tx in 1907 to Sarah F. I am looking for descendents of Adam and Hannah (Rupp?) Starr that were in the 1850 Camden Co., Mo. census in 1850. Their children were:Andrew (Jackson), Jane, John, George, Catherine, Eliza, Givans/Gibbons, Jesse, and Fletcher (Henry). Other children may have been: Lottie, Saphrona, Orville, and Edna. Their son Andrew may have married Charity (Talley). Their children were: Almira, Mary (Ellen), Daniel, Andrew (H.), Martha ,and Annie/Anna/Hannah Matilda, Emma (Catherine), William (M.), and maybe one unknown and one deceased child. Andrew, Charity and family were in the 1870 and 1880 census in Hay's Co., Tx. By 1900 Charity was widowed and in Atascosa Co., Tx. with her children Mary , William and Emma Smith and Emma's children: Joshua and Alice. Living nearby is Andrew and Charity's daughter Annie with her husband William Miskay(sp?) and their children:Rosie?, Mary, Joe, and Sam. Also in the household are Julia Starr, listed as step-daughter to William and John Miskay(?), listed as brother to William. In the 1860 Atascosa Co., Tx. census is a John Starr that could have been one of Adam's children. He is married to Tabitha and their children are: Andrew, Mary E., and William. Also in the household is an Elizabeth Mains. She could have been one of Adam's children. I am trying to see if Adam Starr could have been kin to any other Starrs in Camden Co., Mo. around 1850. Can anyone help me?

Nellie Goins Soto is a descendent of T. Lee Roy Goins (deceased 1837) who married in Atascosa County. I do not recall her mother first name, all I remember of her mother is the maiden last name of Sendejo.

Nellie was born in Atascosa County in May of 1917. She has a rather large number of deceased (Ike, Marcello, Mary, etc.) and some living siblings that still live in the Poteet and Pleasanton, TX area, ie. Henry, Eileen, Tom, Lavernia (West TX).

Rincon family in early 1900's - need info

I need help. My husband's gg-grandfather was Policarpo Rincon, born around 1859 in Mexico. He, his wife - Epifania M., and their children, Isidoro (Ysidro), Santos, Acencion, Demetrio, and Lucas are listed in the 1910 Census in Justice Precinct 3, Atascosa County. They were the neighbors of the Troutz, Dabney, Downs, Lee, Badillo, etc. They seem to drop off until 1930 Census when we find some of the children living with their eldest sister, Santos, and her husband and kids, in Corpus Christi. I found a record of an Epifania M. Rincon buried in Atascosa county and was wondering if she is the same woman listed above. Cemetery in Poteet

My great great grandmother's death certificate says that she was buried in Poteet. No cemetery is listed. I have checked with Roy Akers Funeral Home in San Antonio which was the undertaker. They said they had lost her file. I have checked the lists that are online, but have not found her. I suspect that her husband may be buried there as well because they lived in Atascosa County until he died. She and the children then moved to San Antonio. Her name is Artemissa (also Artiemissie, or Artemissia) J. Miller. Are there any other places I could check to find where she is?

Would anyone have the marriage date for Nannie/Nancy Claybrook and Nathaniel McGirk? They married later in life. Nathaniel had previously been married to Nancy Jane Burrus. Nannie had been married to Stephen W. Stone and then a Mitchell I believe. They married in Texas. I have found Nathaniel on the 1900 and 1910 census in Atascosa county.

She is my 4th great grandmother and I've been told that she came to Puerto Rico from the Canary Islands as a widow, with two daughters. One daughter's name is Casilda Gonzalez Casanova (b.1850), married to Manuel Delgado. Their children were, Juan Delgado Gonzalez, Jose Delgado Gonzalez (b.1884), Guellerma Delgado Gonzalez (b.1880, d.1954), Victoriano Delgado Gonzalez (b.1887)and Candido Delgado Gonzalez (b.1882). Candido Delgado Gonzalez married Joaquina Portalatin Hernandez.

Looking for burial information about my g-great grandfater - Alejos Soliz - was on the 1900 & 1910 Census in Atascosa County under the last name Garza. Born abt 1850 married to Refugia Garza de Soliz - died abt 1917 (?) there is a probate index in Atascosa / Medina filed 10/8/1917 No 516
He had 7 children all of whom were born in Pleasanton.
Names include Eusebio Soliz, Jesus Soliz, Margarita G Soliz, Sara Soliz, Dolores (LOLA) Soliz, Vivian (Bibian) Soliz and Refugia Soliz. Family I think moved sometime after 1917 to Medina County (Castroville, TX)

My husband's grandfather, Pablo Trevino, filled out a WWI draft card in Atascosa County in 1918. I am trying to figure out the name he put in permanent home address, employer and nearest relative. All three have the same name of what I think was a local farmer. But I can't read the name of the farmer. I am trying to figure out that name so I can find out where Pablo was living at that time.

Am trying to locate info about his parents. He said one was a widow and the other a widower who had already raised families of their own when they met and married and had him. He has half brothers and sisters that he never knew. His father was supposed to have come from KY originally.

Were they Maria's children from a previous marriage? They seem to have used the name MUSGRAVE when they married. There are also some WALDONs. The family was in Caldwell Co. in the 1850 census, with James and Fanny WALDEN aged 61 and 65. Were they Maria's parents? Does anyone know this family? Trying to research the McCullough line past William H. McCullough who was Deputy Sheriff in Atascosa Co. in 1857, killed 1858. He may have been born in Mississippi in 1831. Need to know his parents. Also cause of the conflict that led to his death (possibly over a child - his niece? - who was adopted into the Slaughter family?). W.H. also related by marriage to the Kennard family and Cavendar family (and possibly even the Slaughter family).

I have some books that refer to him and traveled to the St. Charles crossing of the Arkansas river, where he supposedly had a farm. Looking for James Kelly Hamby and wife Julie who had a son James Kent Hamby. They were living in Sinton TX in 1946 when his father, Walter Isom Hamby died in Kyle, Hays, Texas. His mother was Rosa Kelly Hamby who died in 1956 and is buried at San Marcos Cem. in Hays TX.
James Kelly Hamby was born in 1920, and may have died about 1980.
Walter Hamby was a brother to my Mary Hamby Cardell-Lenard. Walter and Mary were children of William Hamby and Priscilla Clifton who were in the Austin, TX. area.

William M. Nichols b. 1849 Seguin, Guadalupe Co., TX (son of George Washington Nichols & Rebecca Blevins) married Martha Jane Nicholson b.1847.

Martha Jane Nicholson might be the daughter of Braxton Bonaparte Nicholson and Jane Shelton Hudson.

Early marriage records show William M. Nichols and Martha Jane Nicholson married July 30, 1868 at Atascosa Co., TX.

In 1870 W.M. Nicholls age 22 and wife Martha J. age 23 with daughter Francis E. age 8 months are listed on the Atascosa County, TX census.

In 1880 William Nichols is listed in the household of his step-father Jefferson McGrew and wife Rebecca. No wife is shown now for William Nichols age 27 but with him are 2 children, Emeline Nichols (dau) age 11 and George Nichols (son) age 7.

I would appreciate any information on this Nichols and Nicholson family line.

Would anyone please provide confirmations that these people are noted below are the Bill and Maggie Wood who lived in Devine (as I remember).
I have recently discovered death information for a William Wood on the SSDI and it lists that he died in Pleasanton. He was born on May 8, 1893 and died Jan 1980. Maggie died in Dec 1998 in Medina.
My "Bill" was related to the Thomas, Jordan, Wells, Cox etc. families in the Pearsall area. His mother was Maude Thomas.
