I am trying to locate decendants of Charles Goodnight. My gr-gr-gr grandfather was John Wesley Sheek, stepbrother of Charles Goodnight. I would like to locate photos or more family information.

Charles and Mary Dyer Goodnight listed in the census records for Armstrong County 1880, 1910 record indicates they had been married for 38 years and no children had been born of the marriage. He is indexed as Gooding and not Goodnight but it is Goodnight on the record for 1910. Mary had a brother living in the household in 1880. I did not find Charles in 1870 or 1900 record.

You can find Wesley Sheek listed in 1860 Palo Pinto Co, Texas Fed census along with Charles Goodnight. Write me for more information.

Charles Goodnight died in 1929; therefore, he would not be listed on the 1930 Census....

You mentioned you were a gr gr gr granddaughter of John W. Sheek. Which of his children is your line, and so on.

I am a gr gr granddaughter of John W. SHeek and Martha Lane:
Lou Emma Sheek, their daughter, married John Thomas Franklin Dukes. Vilas Aldin Duke, Lou Emma's third child born 20 Mar 1889 in Indian Territory/OK, was my grandfather Duke.

I am searching for John Wesley Sheek and wife Martha(nee: Lane) on the 1870 Census. I suspect they were in KS during this time. They were my gr gr grandparents.

Martha died about 7 Mar 1871 in KS.
