the only problem i am having is that on john wilson's birth record it states that his mather was nancy elizabeth payne and father ben parker. now nancy payne is on ben parker's civil war record that i have from harris county georgia in 1863. so i think that proves he lived there and was born there like i thought.

Surnames: Parker's, Ratliff
I have been trying to find anyone that can give me any info. on James Parker born abt. 1818 in SC that married a Mary Annie Ratliff, from AL? and they lived in Miss. and while there had a least two sons, one named William H. and the other son, Thaddeus. They moved to Texas and had two more sons, Joseph and then my husbands grandfather Benjamin Franklin Parker born 1866 around Eagle Lake, Texas, which was in East Bernard, Texas area , according to the census record we have, somewhere on the Brazos. They were living in Austin County, Texas it is said when they both died abt. 1873 and we believe Thaddeus must have died also. the three remaining boys afterwards went to Gonzales County, Texas and married and that is where my husbands father was born.
We are about at the point where we think we will never find the answers to this one. My father-in-law always said they were kin to Cynthia Ann Parker but it seems like if there is a link it's never going to be found.
dorisparker78109@hotmail.com
Any help would be appreciated as I am 67 and I don't think I'm going to unravel this one for my husband and he's 74!
Thanks,

Doris

i know how you feel! We have been searching for years and no one knows anything. I find that each generation of our tree has no clue about half of their siblings or what happened to them. Once I find it they remember things. Its been hard and now I have all theses documents and people still say i am or must be wrong. I hate to say it but the state and I BOTH think its just because no one researched my line. That makes alot of sense since people seemed not to care. as to the on the brazos Joseph Parker lived along there somewhere or at least he was found there in the war of the Texas republic. what dates do you have on your joseph?

Not sure how to reach you so I will try this. My e-mail address: kwilmot@atcjet.net I descend from a Samuel H.W. Thomas that I show as a brother to Abisha (Abishai) Thomas that I saw posted on your family tree.

I'm not very familiar w/Ancestry.com so didn't know how else to get a message through to you.

Thank you for any information.

My grandfather was Miles ALton Parker.
He married Cora May Shockey.
Her mother was Dora Hamilton Bennett.

I believe that my grandfather had a wife before Cora May Shockey. I am NOT sure, but I believe that wife may have been Eliza, and then he married Cora.

Again, I am NOT SURE, but I did find this:
Parker,Miles ALton Inf Of 9-27-1928 M Cora Shockey Miles ALton Parker

This infant must have died, because we never knew him.
We only knew Jerry Parker, Durwood, Billie, Bobby, Betty, and Joe. Could this be the same Miles ALton Parker???
