Does anyone know how I can find info on the Samuel Scott (grantee) whose heir, Jas. Scott was assigned 640 acres in Davidson County, TN? The names James and Samuel appear continually throughout my line, and I have traced the family back to Samuel Scott in Davidson Co as early as 1810. This Samuel was born somewhere in VA btw 1770-1775 but I don't know who his parents were. He died in Shelby County, TN in 1848, so I know he's not the grantee. I wonder if someone could help determine if Jas. and Samuel might be father and brother/uncle/grandfather of my "brick wall Samuel"? Also I would love to find an accounting of Samuel Scott's (#1) death in defense of the Cumberland Settlements.
