One of my ancestors was William Bigham (1756-1842), who moved from N.C. to Tennessee in 1800 or so. I've read a few online accounts that he and his brother Andrew both received Revolutionary War bounty land grants in Tennessee. Although I have been able to locate his lengthy Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty-Land Warrant Application Files, I cannot seem to find any evidence that he received a land grant (although he did get a whopping $63.33 a year pension!). Am I looking in the wrong place? I've searched the ancestry.com files and I came up empty. Any suggestions?
