I am searching for the family of Michael Joseph Kisner (at the time pronounced "Kaisner" or "Kasner")(1822?-1905). According to his son, he came from Weakley county with "Bob Love" to North Mississippi in what was then still Indian territory, circa 1838, when he was about 16. He said he had a brother who went to Texas and was killed by a fallen tree. His sister (name unknown) married a John Strickland.

Hello, I'm also looking for information regarding this line.
This would also be my 3rd Great Grandparents. I have been searching and haven't been able to find any substantial evidence other then a few census in Tennessee. I'd love to compare and share information to see if we have the same thing or can maybe learn something new from each other.
Thank you,
Christie

My name is Russell Thomas. My g.g. grandparents are James Edgar Cashon and Asenath Jackson Wood. My grandfather was Arthur Fulton Cashon (his wife Lessie Margaret Robertson)
For those of you interested in the Cashon family I have a real treat. On July 1, 1917 there was a family reunion at the 'Big House' (John Franklin Cashon's house). I believe the Big House was located near Prosper, TX. As you can see James Edgar and Asenath are seated on the righ-side of the photograph with my grandpa (10 yrs old) sitting at their feet. You may find others in your tree as well. Enjoy!

Notes: Asenath passed March 13, 1920 about three years after this photo was taken.
The oldest person in the photo is Eliza Jane (Grimes) Dudley b.1838. She is 82 years old in the photo and passed six years later.
Hello Linda,

I found this entry while looking for reuben and mahala brigance married 1819 on Google. I also saw some entries on genforum which are quite old but I just started looking at the Hunters.

I am a descendant of Reuben and Mahala Hunter. My great great grandmother was Martha Ann Hunter. She married John G. Curtis. Their son Reuben Alexander Curtis married Clarissa Rosella Donnelly. Their daughter, Anna Belle Curtis, married Ned E. Lockwood. Ned and Anna were my grandparents.

I do not have information on Ancestry. I have mine on Find A Grave. If you would like to contact me, here is my email address:

malamute_kid@sbcglobal.net

I am looking for Reuben's parents.

Re: Sarah Jane/Ann McClain Malone of Weakley/Henry Co,

Hi Garry, I hope you might be able to set me on the right track. My GGgrandmother was Sarah Ann (or Jane) McClain b.1848 d.1880. She married James H. Malone. I believe her family moved to Henry Cou. in about 1850 but don't know from where. TN Marriage shows a Sarah J. marrying a James H. Malone in Henry Co. & Sarah's death notice is listed as Sarah J. McClain but on my greatgrandmother's (Zora Ann Malone aka Missourie Malone, Sarah & James daughter)death certificate it states that her (Zora's)mother's name was Ann McLain (not McClain). That is all I know about Sarah Jane/Ann McClain. I appreciate any help you can give me. The rest of my family from Weakley Co. are name Morris, Malone, Castleman & Baldridge. Thank you again! Sydney Couch, from Memphis, TN (Collierville, TN).

I came across a wedding invitation to the marriage of Forrest FERGUSON and Thomas Roberta LITTLE, 1935, and have posted it along with a newspaper clipping titled Popular Couple Married here. Thomas, aka Tommie, was the daughter of Richard Mobley LITTLE and Ina Allen BOBBITT. Forrest was the son of Charles Augustus FERGUSON and Sophia A. IRVINE. Rev. Cayce PENTECOST performed the nuptials at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack McADAMS.

There is also a picture of Sophia Irvine FERGUSON with her three sons Forrest, Albert Granville and Harry M. taken about 1907.

http://moranfamilytn.blogspot.com/2012/06/thomas-roberta-lit...

Cheers!
Mary

Is Turner Bynum (husband of Nancy, father of Martha) that moved from Lincoln Co., N.C. to Weakley & Giles Counties in Tenn. the same Turner Bynum that was killed in a duel with rival Greenville, S.C. newspaper editor Benjamin Franklin Perry on Aug. 17th, 1832? That Turner Bynum was an ardent "Nullifier" & editor of the "Greenville Sentinel".
