I'm looking for info on my gg grandfather's mill. His name was William Pace Casey also known as Uncle Billy Casey. It was on the Barron Fork of the Collins River around the Caney Branch/Jacksboro community.

I've got a newspaper article from 1982 talking about the "lost" community of Warren County. It was called Fountain Springs and it's near Jacksboro . There was a road that originally ran north from the Shelbyville Rd. towards Shady Grove, crossing the river where the mill stood. The road closed in the 1930s.

It says John Lemmons possibly built the damn. Other known operators where: James H.B. Hall, Caleb H. Gilley, Milton Keel, Casey, Starkey, Mr. Mayo, John and Lela Blankenship and Thomas Tolliver.

Recently a cousin went down to the mill and said the mill pond and the mill race are still there. The family story is there are Indians buried near the Casey Mill Pond next to the old barn.

The article mentions about 30 surnames. If anybody is interested or knows ANYTHING about William Pace Casey(Uncle Billy Casey)please contact me!!
