Hi Lara,

My Grandfather's family (Joseph Franklin Evans 1879-1972) was from that area. They lived at the end Mt. Olive Road (also known as Lonemountain Road) and Dark Hollow Road between 1880 & 1920.

My Uncle Oscar took a trip back there in 1992. He mentioned that Dark Hollow was named for the "colored" people who lived back in there.

I have a picture of him at the Dark Hollow road sign on my website http://rpevans.home.att.net/evans2.htm

(Hopefully I haven't offended anyone. Just sharing information as I know it).
