He went by name Marley, also signed as R. M. Goostree.

He was the son of Thomas J. Goostree & Chairity (Moore) Goostree. He was their 2nd. child

He was married to Charlotte (Lottie)Belle McQuiston in 1890, his only known wife, they had only four children.

He owned some land in Portland, TN.
