Looking for my Furlong roots! My 3-times great-grandfather was RULEN FURLONG, born about 1830 in TN. Seems most of the TN Furlongs were here in Smith Co. at that time. Believe Rulen may have been a child of either JAMES or SAMUEL FURLONG, both of whom show up on the 1830 census. However, there were other Furlongs (HUBBARD & MARTIN) on the 1820 census. I believe, but am not certain, that all of these boys may have been sons of JOHN & JEAN (EMMERSON) FURLONG of Virginia (Goochland, Albemarle Co.?) If anyone knows anything about any of these Furlong families and their descendants, please contact me. Thanks!
