Re: Lookups Albert DICKINSON in Shelby County, TN

Surnames: DICKINSON, DWYER
I have newspaper report that Albert DICKINSON died 31 Oct 1917 in the Canal Zone, Panama. Article states he is brother of Carlton DICKINSON, with burial in Memphis, TN. This death notice appeared in the Rochester (NY) Democrat & Chronicle.

In census, I find Albert DICKINSON in Memphis 1900 and 1910. Widow Margaret (DWYER) there in 1920. Children of Albert and Margaret: Charles b. 1888, Helen b. 1891, Mary b. 1894, Anne b. May 1897, Rose b. c1901, Agnes b. c1906.

I'm wondering if you have access to death or obit records that might give parents names for Albert. Perhaps a marriage record, as they were likely married in Shelby Co.

I am hoping to proof that this is Alfred Morton DICKINSON, son of Israel DICKINSON and Sophia Morton from Hatfield, Hampshire Co, Mass.

Thank you for anything you can help me with.

Anna,

I sure would like to use your services. Most of my mothers family that I am researching ended up in Memphis so I would be requesting copies of death records. Could you let me know what the process is and how much they charge for death certs.

I would greatly appreciate this and if you could let me know what your fee would be. I know that I had seen some of this information on line about five years ago, but now can't seem to locate the site anymore. I'll give you an example: Capt. John B. McCune, river boat captain, died 1891-92 (can't remember the exact year). His son died in 1895 in some kind of accident (like a hunting accident). He was about 12 named Julius McCune.

Thank you.

Check http://register.shelby.tn.us/index.php

I found a John B. McCune who died at age 72 in Shelby County on 5 Sept 1891. I did not see Julius McCune.

I hope I don't get you too excited, thinking I have an answer for you. I actually have a question, and didn't know any way to ask it of the original poster. Did you ever get a reply from your Shelby County Lookup request? Would you mind directing me toward them, so I can make a request, too?
Thank you very much.

I am hoping you can help me with this one--am needing any information on a Robert L Coker in Memphis that possibly died in 1981. Mother's name was Fannie. I need a copy of his obituary, if possible. Any information would be helpful--thanks!

Go to http://register.shelby.tn.us, go to the archive area and click on the drop down box to find the year range you want to search. I did see a Robert L Coker a white male that died 11/14/1981 at the age of 73. You can click on the request form to get a copy of the death certificate. Hope this is what you were looking for..

Thank you, but he is actually not a relative of mine so I wouldn't be able to order a death certificate. Plus, the death certificate won't give me the information that I am looking for on this individual. But thanks for your suggestio!

Hi Anita,

I was hoping that you could find an obituary for me. This is for Roy Michael McCoy - he died in Memphis, Tennessee. I believe he died in some sort of accident. He died May 27, 1983.
Thanks.
