I checked my copy of "Beale Street Talks" by Richard M. Raichelson, but it does not have much on that section of Beale St. I think #73 would have been on the south side of the street between Wagner Place and Front Street. (closer to the MS River than the current "entertainment district" of Beale St. today.
The book says that the Reichman0Cosby Warehouse, later the Pittsburg Coal Company, stood next to the railroad tracks closest to the river on the west end of Beale St.and then there were probably other commercial businesses along the next block going east. Today, that section is mostly just open parking lots.
I think I read elsewhere that you plan to come to Memphis. I recommend that you visit the Main Library which has an excellent history section. They have the old "City Directories" on microfilm and you will likely find the establishment you are looking for listed there, and may even find an advertisement for them.
