Classification: Query
Surnames: Breeden, Henry
My gg-grandfather, John C. Breeden, filed a claim in 1872 to the US Government for reimbursement for a mare, mule and 100 bushels of corn taken from his Monroe Co. farm by Sherman's army in 1863. In the claim he states that a nephew, G. W. Henry, served in the Confederacy and if living, John thought he was in Kansas in 1872. John was born in Sevier County around 1823 and the only George Henry I find of the right age is the son of William Henry and Catherine. If this George Henry is John's nephew then it would seem that Catherine might be his sister.
I'm asking Sevier Co. researchers if they have any information on George Henry, son of William and Catherine, or anyone who could be G.W. Henry, Confederate veteran who may have moved to Kansas. Thanks for your help.
