I am looking for information about a family that used to live in Scott County, TN. My father's maternal grandparents were Nancy and Frank Young. Nancy was born on March 1, 1881 and died on August 16, 1963. Frank was born on September 1, 1872 and died on February 10, 1955. They are both buried in Chadwell Cemetery near White Oak in Campbell County, TN. My father's name was David Byrd, and he was born in Scott County on July 17, 1923. My father's mother died when he was a very young child, and he was raised by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Nancy Young. His mother is buried somewhere in Scott County. I do not know her name. I was told that my father had a younger brother whose name may have been Elmer. I was also told that my father had a younger sister. I don't know what her name may have been. I don't know anything about my father's family and I would like to learn. If anyone might have some information to give me, I would appreciate hearing from you.

I am looking for any information on my gr.gr.grandfather STEPHEN NEE OWENS he was born 1801 in Kentucky and married Susannah Elizabeth Higginbotham in Wayne County Kentucky on 05-08-1820 she appears in many census records as being in Wayne Co. with their children, but he never appears in any. Land grants were given to him and his children in the 1850s around Wayne Co. Ky. I believe he may have died in 1859 but am not positive. Their daughter Nancy Ann Owens b.1830 Wayne co. married William "Billy" Morrow b.12-23-1828 Wayne co. are my great grandparents. Any help would be much appreciated.

I am researching my family line and cannot locate the parents of Archibald Angel (B:1775). I have located the 1830 census and a recording of his marriage to Nancy Trammel in Tennessee. The Ancestory site lists a possible name of Rachel (no maiden name) for his mother and there is a record of an Archibald Angel who was a confederate solider from North Carolina however there is no other information regarding his parents. Am trying to locate any information on my gggrandparents, William Franklin MOORE (b abt 1849/TN d May 1912 buried in Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in Scott Co., TN) married abt 1876 to Sarah Spencer Pryor (b Dec 1857/TN d Jun 1910 buried in Black Creek Crossroads Cemetery in Scott Co., TN). This is my brick wall family. I know that at one time they lived in Byrdstown because that is where my ggrandfather George Alivs Moore was born but that is all I can find on them. William was in Scott Co. in the 1900 and 1910 census but I am trying desperately to find out who his parents were. Did they do obits in the newspapers then? What is a town close to this cemetery? I'm trying to find more information on the family of John Hatfield who were in Scott Co TN for the 1860 census family was in Huntsville, John Hatfield, 47, Sarena 49, Susana Hatfield, 17, America Hatfield, 13, Abraham SMITH 8, Alexandre Hatfield, 5 and James Hatfield 23 living with the family.

this whole family was in Whitley Co KY for the 1850 census.

I'm trying to find more on anyone in this family.

John Hatfield was father of Eliz Hatfield who married Riley Smith they were parents of Abraham who was with John and family in 1860 census.

I found record of m Elijah and Elisabeth 1882 Scott co. Also 1910 census there is a Elijah and Ollie Spradling living with Jane Crabtree (poss dau Elijah and Rebecca Thomas). I've located 4 Shoemaker fellows that I'm unable to identify. I found them on WWI draft registrations where they list Robbins, Scott County, TN as their place of birth. Any help will be greatly appreciated, I'm at my wits end.

Fred Shoemaker, born 7 August 1889, living in Illinois during the 1910 & 1920 census but registered for the draft in Bibb County, Alabama in 1917.

Mitt Shoemaker, born 2 February 1894, living in Whitley County, KY in 1910; registered for the draft in Bibb County, AL in 1917 and living in Franklin County, IL in 1920.

Humphrey Shoemaker, born circa 1898, living with his brother Mitt in 1920.

Roy William Shoemaker, born 30 June 1889, registered for the draft in Bibb County, AL in 1917, living in Wise County, VA during the 1920 & 1930 census.

Can anyone help me with finding my Gma Ollie Crabtree mn Spradlin(g) b 1893 and died 1926. She and Gpa, Charlie Crabtree lived in McCreary Co and had 9 kids-2 died in infancy. I am searching for the burial location of Luvernia J. York Pryor (b. April 1855, d. aft. 1920).

I've been told she is buried at a cemetery in Glenmary in Scott County, but I do not know which one.

On the 1920 Scott County Census she was living with her son Jesse J. Pryor (born either 1/1892 or 1/16/1897-- depending on the census and other records).

If anyone has access to Scott County cemetery records and will look this up, I would appreciate it. Also, I am searching for the burial location of Jesse J. Pryor as well.

Anyone doing Brown Research...
Trying to find a link to a possible marriage for our GGGrandmother..Otha "Dolly" Brown, who married James R. Slaven in 1828...she would have been 23 at that time..and we think it unlikely she would have reached that age without having married before. If there was a prior marriage, that would explain why we cannot find her in any Brown line.
She is shown on the Campbell county tax list adjacent to Noah Brown...and later named one of her sons Noah...odd.
If you dont have a direct link..is there any hint that one of the men married a NA ? Otha was Shawnee.

I do know that they would have to have been married after the death of Charlie's 1st wife Mary Jane (Duncan) Watson in July 1942. Charlie lived in Wayne KY at the time of his 1st wifes death, and after he married Julie they moved to Jamestown Fentress TN

I need a date of death for Julian Reed who was born in Scott Co., TN in 1842 to Isaac Reed and his second wife Pharaba McDonald. Julian had a brother, Harrison Reed, and numerous half siblings from his father's first marriage to Pharaba Rebecca Hatfield. Julian married Talitha Massengale in Scott Co. in 1860. They eventually moved to Whitley Co., KY. Talitha died there in the 1890s. Julian married two more times, to Louisa Massengale and then to Hattie Hood in 1911. Julian and Hattie were still in Whitley Co., KY in the 1920 Census. After that, I lose them both altogether. Julian is not listed in the Kentucky Death Index nor in the Whitley Co. Graveyard Books. Since he died after 1920 there should be a record of death for him somewhere but I can't find it. Did he perhaps return to his birthplace of Scott County and die there? Can anyone help me out with this?? Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to track down some of my husband's Lawson lines (Serepta Lawson b. ca 1815/1818 TN - married 1st Rubin Hiram Bridges - they had a son, David Lawson Bridges who might have been named for his grandfather?

Also another line is Elmer Lawson who married Milly Chitwood, b. 1918, the daughter of Riley Chitwood and Rebecca Lewallen.

I am looking for the names of the parents of Reason J. Cotton, born 11-29-1880.

His parents names were cotton (not sure of the spelling),and he was born in Tennnessee. He grew up in the Cumberland Falls area of Kentucky after his parents died in a fire. I dont know what year the fire occurred only that he was still young when it happened. He went to live with a man named 'West' in KY. I do know that he was born in the Scott county area of Tennesse. Also, his parents were both born in Tenn.

I have been trying to find any census info from the 1880's, but have turned up nothing.
