I am searching for an Allen Phillips who married Rachel Cross from Barbour Co., VA now WV who had a son Abram Hiram Phillips born May 4, 1852 in Rockwood in Roane Co., TN. Abram married Margaret Ramsey from Barbour Co., VA now WV.
Allen married Rachel's sister Sara Ann after Rachel's death and had two children; a son Baylum and a daughter who I believe was named Nancy. Allen and Sara lived in Barbour Co. for awhile but later returned to TN where Allen is said to have been buried. It is said that Allen was with Stonewall Jackson when Stonewall was shot and died later from that wound. If any of these names are familair to anyone, please contact me. Thanks, Cathy
