Mel, Bev Gray in this Amy Keesee & Thomas Green message thread is a descendant, as you may have surmised from her messages. She had some information and she was willing to help me. I found my Mary Jane Green's parents since I posted here. She was born in 1845 and her parents were Tamar Martin and William R. Green(e). Tamar Martin was from Roane Co. but William R. Green(e) was born in Virginia and, though I am not certain of his parentage, he has brothers in Monroe & McMinn Cos. in the early 1800s. It's possible several related Green(e) families move to this area of East Tennessee from the same area of Virginia but I am still working on trying to sort out my William R.'s parentage. There may not be enough extant records for me to determine that. Green(e) is a common surname. We may do a Y-DNA analysis on one of our male Greens to see where we fit. At this point, I assume I am unrelated to your Thomas who married Amy. Good luck ancestor hunting! Jeanie
