I search on my ROWDEN family:
Hammedatha D. ROWDEN married to Lucinda WEBB
Hammedatha was the son of Joseph (Jose) ROWDEN and Susannah (Sukey) ADAMS and he had twelve siblings. Several of these ROWDEN children were born in Roane County, Tennessee.
Joseph (Jose) ROWDEN died in Roane County, Tennessee about 1816
Hammedatha and Lucinda (WEBB) ROWDEN were the parents of four chidren:
SUSAN M. ROWDEN born 1827 TN, married William MCDANIEL
Sunthia ROWDEN born 1830 TN -- no other info on her
James K. P. ROWDEN born 1844 TN, married Nancy UNKNOWN, 6 ch
**Johnathan J. R. ROWDEN born 1845 TN?, married Cassandra LOONEY in Cedar County, Missouri in 1864.
Johnathan J. R. ROWDEN is my great great grandfather.
Johnathan's son Joseph Henry (Joe) ROWDEN is my great grandfather.
Joseph Henry's son Harold Franklin (Frank) ROWDEN is my grandfather.

I'd like to find out more about Johnathan J. R. ROWDEN and if he had other children besides Joseph.

Any connection to my ROWDEN family?
If so, email me at: Roxi188441@aol.com

Hi - I've also been trying to research my family history, and I haven't gotten too far with the Rowdens. I do know that my grandpa, Charlie Mack Rowden (b. 1917) was one of 5 children born to James Shadrack Rowden and Annie Francis Palmer Rowden in Roane County, TN. I don't know anything about James Shadrack Rowden's parents...if you have information that might help, or that might connect us in any way, please let me know. I can't imagine that there were too many Rowdens in that one county in TN. Thanks! :)

Roxie,

I am a Rowden descendant....from Elijah Rowden and Celia Hughes and their son Ezekiel and wife Frances Ahart. Elijah was a son of Joseph Rowden and Susanna Adams, therefore, a brother of the other children you listed. I have info where they were in both Roane CO and Rhea CO, TN. Have more info on them in Cedar CO and Polk CO, MO before they went to Parker CO, TX. Have picture of Ezekiel's headstone at Ash Creek Cemetery, Azle, Parker CO, TX.

Happy to share what I have. Also need help on the Ahart line.

I found this old posting. Don't know if you are still interested, but Susanna "Suckey" Adams was the daughter of
Robet Adams, b. 1720-1730 Fairfax Co., VA, m. Mourning Pigg (b. ca. 1720 King and Queen, VA) 1755 in Albermarle Co.,VA died 1783 Pittsylvania, VA. I have further info on this line back to the 1600's if you are still interested.

I found this old posting. Elijah Rowden is buried with his first wife, Celia Hughes, in Cedar Co., Missouri in Lindley Prairie Cemetery. Evidently, theirs is an unmarked grave as it is not listed on the cemetery records. Sharon

Thank You. May I ask how you happened to know. My husband and I made several trips to Cedar County where his great grandfather lived and we couldn't find anything. Nichola Rowden

This is my husband's line and I have corresponded for several years with other Rowden researchers. I was given this info by one of them who found it in either a family Bible or family documents. I have it somewhere in my records who provided me with this info and will try to locate that, if you would like to have it. My source has been very reliable, so I have no reason to doubt them, as the other documentation that they have provided (other dates, graves, etc.) has been factual. Good luck in your continued research and let me know if I may assist you further. Sharon Tucker (ST316@aol.com)
