Does anyone know anything about this mill which was located at what is now called The Old Gin Slew?

I'm not sure but I think the McNairs ran it. If so this will be the same McNair's at what is now known as McNair's Stand just where 411 crosses the Conasauga River. The Slew/Slu is upriver from there about a mile, perhaps less. It would be on the north side of the main body of the river. I took my boys down there when they were small and found a gold ring in the slew...got into some stinging nettle too. There is much written on the relationship of David McNair and his Cherokee wife and their business relationship with the Hildabrands. If you'll contact the Historical Society Marian can tell you more.
