My gggrandmother's name was May Smith. She married a man with the last name of Bryson who died some time between 1920 and 1930. Does anyone know who this man was? They had four children: Evva, Glana, Guinn, and Eba.

Yes, I do. Baxter Bryson died in 1927. He was married to Mae Smith aka. daughter of (David C. Lenderman) Not many know that she was adopted by John L. Smith (there is one census he confirms step-daughter / step-son) along with her brother Lester b. 1901. They were half siblings to the Smith children Edye, Betty etc... However, they are the only full siblings. Baxter's mother was Sallie Sylvester and his father was a Bryson from Missouri.

Thanks for responding. I was able to find that information but never knew that Mae was adopted by John Smith. This is very interesting. Do you know anything more about Mae's mother and father?

On a side note, I believe you are my third or fourth cousin. Your mother and my mom were first cousins. (if you are who I think you are).
