Mary,
Our early families interacted, but I don't know the details. My g-g-grandfather, James L. Lawson married Elizabeth Melton. Could she have been related to Solomon Summy's 1st wife??? They named their 3rd son Solomon Summy Lawson.
In the 1870 census, Solomon and Mary E. Summy are living in house #64 and James and Elizabeth Lawson are living in house #67.
I have occasionally seen Solomon Summy's name in early records for Polk County. What information do you need?
The only information I have on Elizabeth Melton Lawson is that she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maraday Melton - this from the newspaper obituary. Her birthday is recorded in the family Bible. I have never been able to locate Maraday or any information on him.
Let me know if we have information that can help each other.
Evelyn
