Where would I find these records. Although I don't have exact dates either but I think an individual I seek may have died during this time frame. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You might try ordering a Tennessee death certificate.

The following site is an inexpensive source for obtaining TN death certificates.

If by chance your relative died in Georgia (just across the creek/river), the state of Georgia has a search on-line at the State of Georgia site.

The Cleveland Publich Library, History Branch may be reached at ph 423-479-8367. They have a newespaper obit index for Bradley and Polk Counties. The index starts with their oldest newspapers (abt 1900) Someone there might be able to do a lookup for you.

They also have copies of older death certificates, but I am not sure of the time frame for them.

That seems like my most logical choice and I live abt 3 and 1/2 hours from there. So that could work

I have the POLK Coo. TN Vital Statistics 1926-1946. These books also give the parents names & place of birth if known and also the death certificate number to order a copy. If you will give me the name (maiden/married name if female) you are looking for, I will see what I can find. Children under two years of age are not listed.
