I am interested in the last name Greer. I have a Martha A Greer married to a Newton C. Gilmore ( Gilmer ). She was born 4 Aug 1864 in Perry Co Tn. She married Newton in 1883 in Perry Co Tn.

I am trying to connect Martha with parents. I have a Henry Greer and a Cordelia Cain that I am trying to prove.

I am a descendant of Henry Greer and his first wife, Harriett Henry. I show a Martha A. Greer as the 3rd of 5 children born to Henry and his 2nd wife, Cordelia Cain. I have the other children of his and Cordelia's as Edwin, b. 1858; Mary Izora (Ida), b. 1863; Sarah (Sallie), b. ca 1869; and Cain, b. ca 1871, all born in Perry Co. Henry had 11 children by his first wife.

Are you researching the Gilmore (Gilmer) family? If so, do you have any connection with them and the Wades or Peelers in Hickman Co?

Joe , I am sorry , but I just saw this note. This is the family I am looking for. Do you have the info on Henry Greer's 1st wife and children? Yes I am doing the Gilmore/Gilmer line that is realted to Peelers and Wades. My direct ( actually hubby's ) goes William H. Gilmore, William T Gilmer, Newton C Gilmer/Gilmore, John Leslie Gilmer, Gaylon Gilmer, David Gilmer.

Lavisa Greer.Born in Davidson Co. Died in Perry Co. A member of the 20 Tennessee Infantry C.S.A.
Lavisa Moore Greer, b.8/5/1849/ d.7/7/1931. I don't know if
this helps or not.

Tabitha Greer Burns was mygggrandmother. She was the
daughter of Henry Greer and Harriet Henry. Do you have information for them. I haven't worked much on this line. I'd appreciate your help.

Betty, I have no info on Tabitha Greer. The info I have on Henry Greer is mostly with his second wife as that is how I am related. In my files it says that in 1880 in Perry Co Henry was 69 he is living with his wife Cordelia 40 and children Martha 15, Sallie 12, and Cain 9. Martha is my husbands grt grandmother. My info with Harriet Henry does list one child Susan Roena Greer 28 Dec 1848, but unfortunately I did not write my source down. I will have to see if I can find it. I am sorry I am not of more help.
