Hello, I am reviving an old puzzle about James W. Nichols (1805-1870), Martha Ann Bonner (1808-aft 1880) and their daughter Mary Arramenta Nichols who married James Carol Shelby in Obion County.
All of these people ended up near Moscow, Hickman County Kentucky, and I have not had any luck tracing their links to Obion.
I suspect they are all related to families who settled along the Cumberland River after the revolutionary war.
There is a working hypothesis that James Shelby is related to Eli Shelby of Scott Co., Missouri, but no solid documentation that I have seen yet.
Any information on possible relations of James Shelby and James Nichols would be wonderful.
