Some one of this Orr family lived on the old "Harris" family farm that I now own . According to my Dad (deceased), they lived here from 1921 until 1932. He told of a time when Andy and Jake were putting up hay using a track mounted hayfork and Andy unknowingly caught his leg in with the hay on one load. The horse or mule they were using wasn't very cooperative in that it wanted to work very slowly. When Andy got the fork (and his leg) secured, he shouted to "put 'er in high, Jake". Jake slapped the horse on the rump with a switch and the horse took off, lifting the hay and Andy by the leg up to the track in the peak of the barn roof and then traveling on the track back through the barn with his head just barely missing cross timbers of the barn framing. The whole time of Andy's travel, he yelling whoa...whoa... whoa. I can still almost hear my dad sharing this tale with me as a child and laughing the whole time he told it.
