Surnames: Armstrong
My husband's family are Armstrongs from McMinn Co TN. Here are the names I have. My husband's grandfather was Joe Quincy Armstrong born 1917 in Sunset, TX; his parents were William Powell Armstrong (b:1871 in McMinn, d:1959 in Sunset) and Mary Bell Hastey.
William Powell's parents were William Armstrong (b:1843 in McMinn, d:1922 in Sunset) and Margaret Elizabeth Newman.
From research I have done, the Armstrong family came to Sunset, TX around 1882 from McMinn Co TN.
I have been unsuccessful in locating who the elder William Armstrong's parents were.
Do you have any idea where the Indian descent came into the Armstrong line? Grandpa Joe talked about it but never knew where it came in or what kind.
Please let me know if any of these Armstrong names line up with yours.
