Jim,

Is your McKNight a descendant of the McKnitt (McKNight, MacKnight) family from Scotland/Ireland that came over to the American and settled in Cecil Co., MD and in NC? If so then your tree might tie into mine because I am a descendant of the McKnitt (MacKnight, McKNight) family from that area. Please let me know. Thanks.

I have yet to make a connection before 1803. I am descended from Samuel Bradford McKnight, b. 1803 in NC. I believe him to be brother to Augustine. I also believe their mother to be Agnes and father possibly Robert. I can find no record of them in NC. I believe they came to Maury Co. about 1810. Agnes is living with Augustine in 1850, but no sign of Robert past about 1820.

I have researched the McNnitt family yao are referring to, but I haven't been able to make a connection.

Not a problem. Like I mentioned before I am related to the DAVIDSON family because they married into the BREVARD family when Brg. Gen. William Lee DAVIDSON I married my 6th Great-Grand Uncle John BREVARD II's daughter Mary Elizabeth (Elizabeth Mary) BREVARD.She is alsi Grand-daughter of Katherine McKNITT my 7th Great-Grandma who married into the BREVARD Family as well. So let me know and I will be glad to exchange info by emailing me at my email for here. Good Luck!!

I can not make any tie-ins before 1803. But, I have researched the McKnight family you are referring to and I haven't/yet found any connections.
