Albina Brown was the first wife of my 2nd Great Grandfather, Robert A. Gifford. Robert and Albina had 7 children, 5 girls and 2 boys (counting the twins). Albina died in childbirth at the age of 35 in June, 1859. The twins that she died trying to deliver were named James and Jane. I found this information on the U.S., Federal Census Mortality Schedules Index, 1850-1880. I am confident that Albina and her twins were buried in Prentiss County, Mississippi, although I have been unable to find where they are buried. Robert A. Gifford then married Elizabeth Bussa on 26 Feb 1860. Robert and Elizabeth had 4 sons. Their second son was my great grandfather, Robert E. Lee "Bob" Gifford.
