Greetings, I have been trying to find information for some time now to aid me in putting my family tree together. I am curious however, as to what information is available about the slaves and families who worked on the plantations and their owners in Maury, Tn. during the period of 1850 - 80? My ancestors left Maury sometime after the slaves were freed and migrated to Kansas City. So I'm looking for any information regarding them. My Great-Great Grandparents were Stephen and Sally Hancock. I have information that their surname was that of their owner and they had 15 children, 3 of which became ministers. It would be nice to know where their homestead was in Maury and where, if there are any, I can locate birth/death records for slaves.
