Gabriel was the son of Gabriel (1725-1791) and Elizabeth (Bumpass), Person Co., NC. Gabriel and Elizabeth had ten children. I would suppose it would be possible for the Gabriel in Madison Co. to be an uncle to your Patrick Henry, but the names Patrick Henry Davie and Elizabeth R. Shields do not show up in my database. The younger Gabriel's brother John had lived in Madison Co. for a while. John's son Winstead had 10 children (don't know their names).
