my great grandfather was Rob Haskins too, from carol's sister Judith Ann Haskins (my grandmother),(they were children that Rob had with Ernestine Amanda Pellom in 1943 and 1946)- his father was Solon Franklin Haskins and mother nannie mae robinson . Solon's father was Joseph Porter Haskins who was married to Pauline "polly" Scott ,Solon's mother. I am not sure what happened to joseph Porter Haskins , but on Solon's death certificate Polly had it marked father unknown , but the state later wrote above that- Joseph Porter Haskins , which I also found and confirmed on an early census for solon Haskins , the Haskins are mainly burried in Loudon Tn at roberson cemetary and some of the grave markers can be found on find a grave index website , please check out my riley jean dykes family tree- from her maternal great grandmother judith ann haskins and up for extra info such as Haskins siblings ,source citations ,photos etc.

Where to look for burial records in Loudon?

Hi There!

I am trying to find where my GGGrandfather George Vinson is buried. He lived in Loudon at the time of his death in 1907 (or so). I found his wife buried in Lenoir City, but he is not there with her....I am looking for death and/or burial records.

So I am wondering if anyone has a list of cemeteries in Loudon? Or an idea of who to call in the area?
BTW the folks over at Lenoir City are super helpful in case any one is looking for relatives there.

thanks!
Erin
Re:David D. Webster - parents

Mr. Plemons, this message is about 14 years late, hopefully you are still around --- somehow I never saw it when you and Eva originally had your conversation....What "conflicting" information did you have regarding the parentage of David D. Webster? I would really like to hear what your understanding was - or is....

I look now on ancestry.com and see all the many family trees that cite a "Dedrick" Webster or a "David Dedrick" Webster as the father of David D. Webster. None of them cite to any supporting authority save another similarly unsupported family tree. Well, let me tell you how I think that all began....Back in the mid to late 90's I contacted a descendant of David in Florida - it's been so long ago I do not even remember his name - I think I have it in my records somewhere - in any event in the course of a great conversation this fellow told me that family legend had it that David's father was named "Dedrick," and that at some undefined point in time, Dedrick had left the family cabin on a trip and never returned. Nobody knew if he had met with an unfortunate accident, been killed, or what. I am not going to offer any further conjectures regarding what happened to him; he is not here to defend himself. Nancy was left to carry on and raise the three children. My Florida source was emphatic on the name though - "Dedrick." That's how it was handed down to him. Problem is that in twenty years of admittedly sporadic research, I've never been able to verify the existence of a "Dedrick" Webster, from Masachusetts or otherwise. Lots of Davids, but no Dedricks, nor variations to that. To make matters more confusing, many of the current family trees variously identify David D. Webster as "David Dedrick Webster;" I've never seen any contemporanous record that gives David's actual middle name, so I am assuming that this is unsupported conjecture on someone's part, and it has been taken as truth. If you or Eva have solved any of these riddles, please let me in on the answers.

L. Webster

I was just at Fenders on Wed. looking for Walker graves. It was right on the road as I was on my way to Stockton Valley Rd. so I stopped. I noticed several Moores. Have you tried looking on Findagrave.com? Sometimes they even have photos of the graves.

A place called Boston in 1876?

Would anyone know the whereabouts of a small community in Loudon County in 1876 called Boston? I recently came across a description of Dyche's Store which served as the local post office in 1876. There was said to be 2 grist mills in the vicinity whose water power came from Polecat Creek (I believe the mills were owned by I.H. Cox and J. Fooshee). Boston said to be in western part of Loudon County, 10 miles from Loudon and 6 miles from Philadelphia. Thanks for any info.

Hello,

I am searching for the marriage records for GW Vinson and Nancy Brackett on March 5, 1894. I have found the County Marriage record in the	Tennessee State Marriages, 1780-2002, but it does not provide much information such as city or parents....Would there be any other record?

GW was put into "apprenticeship" when he was 5, so I have no records of his parents or siblings...I was hoping that maybe a marriage license record might list them...

thanks!
Erin
I am trying to locate the burial remains of my ggg grandparents Alexander and Phoebe Hammontree McCollum. The location described from a page out of "Blount County Cemeteries" is "Located off Morganton Rd 1.2 miles SW of Greenback--go left 0.4 mi. then right to the first house (Lewis Farm). Graves are behind the barn." The McCollums are buried there with a Moses Tuck.
I'm not sure of this exact location. Google Map shows a McKeen Road at about the 1.2 mile mark off of Morganton Road. There is a Lewis Road off of McKeen. Would this be the location I am looking for?
I would appreciate the opportunity to pay my respects and take a couple of photos for my records if anyone is familiar with the graves I am looking for.
Thanks

I have no proof, but that's where I have him listed. Isaac had four males in 1830: 2 under 5 and 2 age 5-10. And then in 1840 2 males under 5, 3 males 5-10, 1 male 10-15 and 2 males 15-20. If these were all sons, that means he had 7 sons and 1 daughter. On the 1900 census William H is listed as being born Nov 1828, so that would put him one of the two listed as being under 5 in 1830 and the one son listed as being ten to 15 on the 1840 census. I have listed Isaac's (maybe) sons as Abraham ca 1825, William H. b. Nov 1828. Absalom ca 1834, and Larkin Frank b. Nov 1835 (do you have any idea who the other three might be). Larkin Frank went with my Absalom Patton Melson, Sr. to Arkansas, but I do not believe that he was a son of Absalom. No family records show him as being a son. My Dad was raised by Absalom Pattons Sr.'s son Francis Marion when his mother died before his first birthday.
Absalom (possible son of Issac married to Elizabeth Craig) died in Chandler, Lincoln, OK, which is where a lot of my Dad's family lived, too, including my Dad and Mom and where my twin brothers were born.
You can find William H. & Rohama Melson (listed as Nelson)on the 1880 census at District #9, Knox Co., Tennessee, ED 161 page 4 fam # 29/30
