Mr. William Lee Crawford, 67, of Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Crawford was born June 8, 1941, in Lincoln County, TN, to the John and Irene Farris Crawford.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and retired from Wayne Farms.
Surviving are his wife, Peggy Edwards Crawford of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Denise Johnson of Mount Airy; two grandchildren, Robin Barnett and husband, Richard, and Billy Johnson, all of Mount Airy; a great-grandchild, Madison Deya Smith; a sister, Ella Mae Yarboro of Lovett, TN; and a brother, John Crawford of Jacksonville, FL.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 5, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Ladonia Baptist Church, with the Rev. Tony Holder officiating. Mr. Crawford will lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy
