Trying to find person who entered information about the McGees. Particularly, Mary Elizabeth McGee (Bettie McGee) who was living on Rt. 2, in Kelso. She married Hugh W. Thompson (2nd wife, 1st wife Sarah Ann E. Noles). Hugh Blanton Thompson was the last child of Hugh and Bettie. According to the census records, there was an eldest son - Lonie or Lonnie Thompson born around 1865. I am trying to see if this the same person as my husbands grandfather, Samuel Lon Thompson. If Bruce Reedy or Time McGee still frequent this site, please let me know if you show any information on this family. I know that they lived in the Kelso and Mulberry areas. Hugh had two brothers - Francis A. Thompson (married to a Frances) and a Percival(?) Wilson Thompson. They were witnesses to the Civil War Pension #497 application that Bettie McGee submitted.
In 1900, Bettie says she is the mother of 8 children, 5 who are alive.
Also, whoever submitted information about the McGee's on this site, mentioned that there was a decendent of James S. Bates (married a McGee) who was still alive.
Would appreciate any information if possible.
