Classification: Query
Surnames: Robertson, Robinson, Robison, Robisson, Crowder,Hardin
I am trying to sort out a problem family. My ancestor Harriett Robinson m John T. Hardin in LCT. He brought her to Texas in hopes of curing her TB problem, but he was not successful. She was the daughter of Mildred Crowder and Henry Robinson. Several of their children died from TB. The problem? Is the Henry Robertson listed on the 1840 census for LCT his father? The name on the census for other years is Robison/Robisson, and finally by 1900 ca, Robinson. Harriett's name on her tombstone is Robinson.
In 1840, there is a male of the correct age to be her father, Henry (Jr?)in the Robertson household. His age is constant on all censuses for a birth year of 1809ca. The elder disappears before 1850 as far as I can tell. Since the name is so confused in many censuses, I am uncertain if this is his father or is it another family? With family names of children on other censuses, it's easy to find them. Does anyone have a source of info that might help?
